We invite visitors to our Calm Mornings program on Saturday, April 25, from 9am to 1pm, with a 10am Earth Month workshop inspired by our Studio Ghibli’s PONYO exhibition and an accessible screening of The Wind Rises (2013). ASL interpretation will be provided.
9–10am | Early Gallery Access
Explore the galleries in our new exhibition, Studio Ghibli’s PONYO, on Level 2. Sound and lighting adjustments will provide a more sensory-friendly experience.
10am–1pm | Family Workshop
Visit the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level for a workshop inspired by the exhibition, Studio... Ghibli’s PONYO and today’s accessible screening of The Wind Rises. In celebration of Earth Month and inspired by the themes found in Studio Ghibli films about taking care of our environment, families can create their own stop-motion animation using recycled materials.
In addition to the Calm Mornings program, we encourage visitors to attend our accessible, open-caption screening of The Wind Rises (2013) at 11am in the Ted Mann Theater.
The screening is part of our weekly Family Matinees series. A separate admission ticket is required.
The Shirley Temple Education Studio will remain open during the screening as a space for relaxation and artmaking until 1pm.
