The film follows Elliott, a 10-year-old boy, who develops a close bond with E.T., an alien being he shelters who was left behind on Earth. Along with his friends and siblings, Elliott is on a quest to help get E.T. back home. The film was nominated for nine Academy Awards, winning Original Score, Sound, Sound Effects Editing, and Visual Effects.
