The Youth Programs team invites all ages to be inspired by our newest exhibition Shifting Perspectives: Vertical Cinema.
The vertical format of filmmaking has been around since the 1890s, however over time, the standard in cinema has shifted to the horizontal format we are used to viewing. Shifting Perspectives: Vertical Cinema embraces the spirit of experimentation in cinema and recognizes how the personal devices we use every day: smartphone, tablets, etc., capture images and video in the vertical format.
In this workshop, attendees can use either their own devices or devices available in the Shirley Temple Education Studio to create their own vertical cinema clips.
Meet us Sunday, November 12 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level.
All workshops are free with museum admission and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Museum admission is free for youth ages 17 and under with advance reservation.
If you have any questions or need assistance planning your visit, please email museumeducation@oscars.org.
