Featuring real mummies from across the globe, Mummies of the World: The Exhibition returns to the California Science Center for the final stop on its international tour and includes a new selection of mummies never before seen in Los Angeles. Come face to face with naturally and intentionally preserved human and animal mummies from ancient Egypt, South America, and Europe, along with authentic burial objects, interactive AV experiences, and mummification tools. Uncover the stories revealed through CT scans (Computed Tomography) and analysis of the full-body mummies. Discover how the scientific study of mummies provides a window into the lives of ancient people, past cultures, and our ever-changing world. Presented with dignity and respect, this compelling collection offers unprecedented insights into the past.

GAME! Basketball and Contemporary Art celebrates basketball as a source of creative expression and community connection. Anchored by the renovation of the Great Park’s four basketball courts—featuring original, site-specific art by California artist, Katy Ann Gilmore—the exhibition showcases a selection of contemporary artists from the book Common Practice: Basketball and Contemporary Art who explore the culture and aesthetics of basketball, alongside a survey of Project Backboard’s national and international court renovations.
